Ningbo eyes Central and East European investors
THE Ningbo city government yesterday said it will unveil policies to draw investors from Central and East Europe as the city taps business prospects arising from the Belt and Road initiative.
Ningbo in Zhejiang Province will hold an investment and trade expo in June to strengthen its bonds with countries from the region. The Ningbo government will subsidise 5,000 yuan (US$782) for each European booth at the expo.
In 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road initiative, which aims at reviving the ancient trade routes that span Asia, Africa and Europe.
To facilitate trade with the region, Ningbo will cut the inspection period of imported goods from CEE countries to three days from one week previously.
