Online loans for Easier Life in home decoration

AN online finance platform targeting the home decoration market opened yesterday in Shanghai, the first of its kind on the Chinese mainland.

The Easier Life platform, jointly invested by ChinaPnR, a Shanghai-based third-party payment firm, and Shenzhen-listed home decoration service provider Dongyi Rising-sun Co, offers home owners quick loans at low rates to decorate their homes. Easier Life has also signed cooperation agreements with the Bank of Shanghai and 15 home decoration partners, including decoration website jia.com and air-conditioner maker Daikin, to offer users services online.

The platform aims to help young home owners enjoy a better life at a reasonable cost in housing and car loans, said Zhou Ye, chairman of ChinaPnR.

There’s a huge demand for home renovation and the market could be worth as much as 1 trillion yuan (US$160 billion) this year, said Xu Jianan, president of Dongyi Rising-sun.

“Internet finance is a trend for many industries in 2015. We can cover more families and consumers through the new technology and services,” Xu said.

Easier Life will later venture into providing loans to buy home appliances, get married, go traveling and for education purposes, according to the joint venture partners.
