Output of city鈥檚 鈥榞reen鈥 companies reaches 6b yuan

THE output of companies engaged in helping factories reduce pollution reached 6 billion yuan (US$955.7 million) last year, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information said on Monday.
The city has about 150 such companies that employ a combined 9,600 people.
The commission said industrial parks, power plants and electroplating factories would be key customers for these companies going forward.
The municipal government issued a formal notice in October to instruct work concerning companies in the environmental sector. The commission then started evaluating the businesses in order to better regulate the sector.
