THE State Council, China's Cabinet, has appointed Pan Gongsheng as vice governor of the People's Bank of China.
Pan, 48, former vice president and executive director at the Agricultural Bank of China, will replace Du Jinfu at the central bank, Xinhua news agency said yesterday. AgBank announced Pan's resignation on June 8. The central bank now has four vice governors, Pan, Hu Xiaolian, Liu Shiyu and Yi Gang, who is also head of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
