Ready to launch
SHANGHAI Futures Exchange said it's ready to launch crude futures trading, and plans to attract overseas investors into the onshore futures market.
Yang Maijun, chairman of the bourse, said in Beijing yesterday that it aims to make Shanghai crude futures one of the global benchmarks for oil prices by starting to trade crude contracts on the bourse. He noted a tax policy that favors offshore investors is necessary to lure more of them to support the market as well as for the exchange to gain global prominence.
