Report: AIG not likely to sell 2 businesses
AMERICAN International Group Inc won't sell two Japanese subsidiaries, according to a published report, deciding the firm will get more value from keeping them.
The struggling insurer said a year ago it would sell three of its Japanese life insurance firms to pay off an US$85 billion government loan as the credit crisis deepened.
AIG will keep AIG Star Life Insurance Co and AIG Edison Life Insurance Co, said a report on The Wall Street Journal's Website on Saturday.
