Rules updated to spark innovation

SHANGHAI’S legislative body last week passed the second draft regulation for the Shanghai Free Trade Zone that aims to leave more space for future “institutional innovation.” The China (Shanghai) Free Trade Pilot Zone Regulation should include more guidance and revoke some specific clauses to make it easier to be copied and expanded for other future FTZs, according to the legislators. Local lawmakers said the regulation should avoid copying the existing government rules and instead spur more innovation.
