SAIF signs deal to promote alternative investment education
SHANGHAI Advanced Institute of Finance, a school under Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is partnering with the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association to promote investment education on China’s mainland.
SAIF signed the cooperation agreement with the US-based nonprofit organization today in Shanghai.
William Kelly, chief executive officer of the association, told Shanghai Daily SAIF teaches alternative investment courses that focus on hedge funds, private equity, real assets, commodities, and structured products, which fits in well with the association’s program.
Professor Cheng Hong, associate dean of SAIF, said students do not necessarily have to get a CAIA charter for a successful career, but it’s a new avenue to broaden their knowledge in the profession.
The association currently has 6,700 members worldwide, including 200 on the mainland. It cooperates with leading universities in the world like Waseda University, the National University of Singapore and IE University.
