Small coastal cities score for work and life
WHITE-COLLAR workers in China’s smaller coastal cities are generally happier about their work and life than those in the largest cities including Shanghai, a survey showed yesterday.
Yantai in Shandong Province ranked top for both life and work while Shanghai ranked ninth for life satisfaction and 14th for work, Zhaopin.com said in an online survey of 9,272 white-collar workers nationwide.
The respondents were happiest about personal network at work as the sub-index was 3.02, followed by training and development, benefits, salaries, and promotion.
In terms of satisfaction with life, they were happiest about quality time spent with family as the sub-index stood at 2.58, higher than for health, reading, holidays, mental health and sex life.
The sub-index for the respondents’ sexual satisfaction scored 1.64 out of 5, the lowest of 11 aspects the survey covered about life and work.
More than half of the white-collar workers said they had sex less than once a month as 46.1 percent of the respondents are single, and about a quarter of the respondents said they had sex at least once a week in 2014.
