CHINA UnionPay, the nation's sole bankcard transaction firm, yesterday set up a subsidiary to accelerate its international business as consumers are spending more overseas. UnionPay is rapidly growing its presence overseas, where it has already set up networks in 135 countries or regions and issued UnionPay-branded cards in nearly 30 markets, in recent years as rising numbers of Chinese are spending more abroad.
