Suit due to law conflict
DELOITTE'S China business yesterday said a latest suit filed against it by the US securities regulator was "solely because of a conflict between the laws of the US and those of China."
Deloitte's China business was sued on Wednesday by the US Securities and Exchange Commission for not handing over documents related to an alleged financial fraud by Longtop Financial Technology Ltd, a China-based firm registered in the US.
Deloitte said it has been cooperating with the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the US regulator on the request.
