BANK of East Asia has opened two outlets - in Dalian, Liaoning Province, and Chongqing City - to expand its network on Chinese mainland to 83 as the second biggest overseas bank on the mainland in terms of network.
The Hong Kong-based bank is among the first four overseas banks to set up local incorporation on the mainland to fully tap the retail banking market here since the market was fully opened to overseas players at the end of 2006.
