CHINA UnionPay Co has teamed up with Vietnam's Sacombank to enable the use of UnionPay cards in Sacombank's automatic teller machines and point of sale machines.
Shanghai-based UnionPay is deepening its network in Vietnam since it first entered the market in 2005. UnionPay cards are now accepted at 80 percent of the ATMs in Vietnam and 30 percent of merchants in the Southeast Asian country.
UnionPay, China's sole bank card transaction switcher, is expanding its overseas network as more cardholders go overseas.
