Voith sees FTZ to benefit service outsourcing

German industrial group Voith sees Shanghai’s pilot free trade zone benefiting service outsourcing as sales of the company’s services arm in China grew robustly.
“An increasing number of multinationals’ operations in China and local businesses are looking at service outsourcing to cut costs while focusing on their core competencies,” Gerwin Gadigk, managing director of Voith Industrial Services (China), said at a forum yesterday.
“We anticipate this trend to gain growing momentum in the coming years with China’s further economic reform and opening-up of its service sector, pioneered by the inauguration of the Shanghai free trade zone, which is set to boost activities of both multinational companies and domestic businesses.”
