Voting starts for awards in CSR for green future

PEOPLE can vote for the “Invest in Green Future” CSR Excellence Awards, which highlight Shanghai’s ambition and competitiveness in its pursuit of good corporate social responsibility and a green future, organizers said yesterday.
Presented by multinational companies, state-owned enterprises and private firms, 80 cases will compete for the CSR Excellence Awards. The organizers include Shanghai Observer of Jiefang Daily, Shanghai Daily and Eastday.com.
The 80 cases will compete in seven areas — Green Product/Service, Green Supply Chain, Green Operation, Community Engagement, Employee Care, Cross-sector Collaboration and Annual Responsibility Innovation.
From yesterday, people interested to vote for the best CSR practice can find out more about the cases through Shanghai Daily’s WeChat account, and send “vote” to get a link to vote for their choice. Only one vote is allowed for each case per day during the voting period, which ends on July 1.
Votes from the public account for 40 percent in the final results of the competition, and the rest will be decided by a judging panel comprising renowned scholars, market insiders and media experts.
The competition is also supported by the Shanghai Information Office, the Shanghai Commission of Commerce and the Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau.
