Wuhan to explore reforms
WUHAN, the capital of Hubei Province, announced that it will unveil a raft of trial measures in August to explore reforms in East Lake High-Tech Zone, paving the way for the city to set up China’s first inland free trade zone.
According to a proposal released last week, the city will carry out 42 projects to pilot reforms in the zone. The reforms will be tested in the zone for one to two years before they are promoted to the whole city.
“The measures will include trade facilitation, investment liberalization, innovation of administration systems, technological upgrading, financial innovation, the opening-up of the service sectors and improvement of the taxation system,” said Gan Rongkun, vice governor of Hubei Province.
