44% do part-time work
MORE than 40 percent of full-time employees in China have used the Internet to help secure part-time jobs such as private car drivers to boost their income, a 51job.com survey showed yesterday.
The online recruitment portal found that 44 percent of the respondents said they are doing part-time jobs or have worked in such jobs.
More than 65 percent of them said they knew close friends or relatives taking up part-time jobs, revealed its survey, which covered over 6,000 respondents over the past two weeks.
Three quarters of the respondents said their full-time salaries are below 5,000 yuan (US$805) per month.
The main reason of taking a part-time job is to increase income as 41.7 percent of the respondents expect an additional income of 2,000-5,000 yuan a month.
The most popular part-time jobs are overseas purchasing agents, online sellers, tutors and private car drivers.
