4.5G and 5G tech to feature at MWC

THE latest 4.5G and 5G mobile communication technologies will be displayed during the world’s biggest telecommunications conference in Barcelona next week.
With improved speed and bandwidth of over 1 gigabyte per second, 10-20 times faster than the current 4G speed, 4.5G or above networks allow carriers to offer high-definition video, auto navigation, communications and smart home system, said Huawei Technologies and Ericsson, the world’s top-two telecommunications equipment vendors.
Huawei plans to display 4.5G network applications with Germany’s T-Mobile at the Mobile World Congress which opens on Tuesday.
A 4.5G mobile communications technology is slated for commercial use in China and Japan next year. The 4.5G technology is also a migration technology to 5G that is set to be available between 2018 and 2020.
Ericsson will display products and services for equipment and management systems for 5G at the MWC.
