Acer's CEO quits
ACER Inc yesterday said its top executive has resigned over differences with board members about the company's future.
The company said in a statement that board members failed to agree with CEO Gianfranco Lanci on various business priorities after several months of discussions.
The announcement came a week after the computer maker said its first-quarter results would be significantly worse than expected - a 10 percent quarter-on-quarter drop in revenue against an earlier forecast of a 3 percent increase.
Acer also missed its revenue target in the previous quarter. Some PC makers have seen revenues slip in the wake of brisk smartphone and tablet sales - an area where Acer has lagged.
