Acxiom opens center in Jiangsu
ACXIOM Corp, a United States-based digital marketing service firm, opened a global service center yesterday in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.
Acxiom, with global revenue of about US$1.3 billion annually, provides users "direct marketing" services through high-tech methods such as database analysis, customer management and short message and e-mail promotion.
"We come to China under the 'follow the sun' strategy to be close to our clients. We have seen surging demand in China for digital marketing," said John Meyer, Acxiom's president and chief executive.
Chinese clients accounted for only 5 percent of Acxiom's total customer base several years ago but now China contributes 60 percent of the company's new clients.
The overseas market only accounts for 16 percent of Acxiom's total revenue but it will grow rapidly in future, especially in China and Europe, Meyer said. The firm's market revenue from China is expected to "double or triple" within several years.
The growth is expected mainly from the telecommunications, automobile and retail sectors.
Digital campaigns became a trend in the global market last year. Online advertising spending increased 7 percent last year, according to WPP, the world's No. 2 advertising giant.
Initially, the Acxiom center will hire about 100 employees.
