Air separation unit deal
FRENCH industrial gas supplier Air Liquide and Shandong Fangyuan Nonferrous Metals Group yesterday signed a contract involving a 60 million-euro (US$67 million) air separation unit which will increase the Chinese company’s copper smelting capacity.
The unit, with a capacity of 2,000 tons of oxygen per day, is expected to be commissioned by the second half of 2017 at Fanyuan’s factory in Dongying, Shandong Province.
The unit will support Fangyuan’s ongoing plan to expand its smelting capacity from 400,000 tons to 700,000 tons per year by 2017.
