Alibaba to pay 3b yuan in ad commissions

ALIBABA'S advertising network expects this year's advertising commissions given to partners will double to 3 billion yuan (US$481 million) from last year as online vendors rode on a surge of online consumer spending.
Alibaba will upgrade its mobile phone-based advertising platform next year as more people are browsing online shopping sites and placing orders through mobile devices.
Since its establishment in 2007, Alibaba's advertising network has more than 500,000 members and covers millions of individual vendors on Taobao and external shopping sites.
