Aliyun platform launched
ALIYUN, the e-commerce giant Alibaba’s cloud-computing unit, yesterday launched its Big Data service platform in Shanghai.
The company said it hopes to bring 1,000 partners to the platform within three years so that cloud computing can be more easily accessed by small and medium companies.
Aliyun has also teamed up with companies such as domestic hybrid cloud-computing technology provider 99Cloud, American visual computing and graphics processing technology NVIDIA Corp, and institutions such as China Meteorological Administration.
Aliyun will partner with NVIDIA to set up a lab to jointly carry out research on high-performance computing, deep learning and other data technology value-added services. It also unveiled a whole set of tools for government agencies to analyze economic data, enabling them to better understand the economy.
