Aliyun-Intel collaboration

ALIBABA’S cloud-computing unit Aliyun and American tech giant Intel yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate with Beijing Genomics Institute for precision medical capabilities.
By leveraging Aliyun’s cloud-computing capabilities, Beijing Genomics Institute can allow third-party pharmaceutical institutions and medical practitioners to access its online genome database. BGI’s partnership with Aliyun and Intel will enable it to build a data center and a genomics analytical platform that will allow prompt access and analysis of the data. Alibaba’s affiliates will also provide relevant services such as health data management, data mining and resources.
