CHEETAH Mobile’s net profit surged 88.1 percent year on year to 156 million yuan (US$24 million) in the fourth quarter on surging overseas mobile advertising business, the New York-listed mobile security and tool service provider said yesterday.
Beijing-based Cheetah had 650 million users, with 78 percent coming from overseas regions including the US and Europe.
Cheetah’s revenue in the fourth quarter totaled 1.13 billion yuan, an increase of 92.3 percent from a year ago.
For full last year, Cheetah’s revenue reached 3.68 billion yuan, a surge of 109 percent. It was the fifth consecutive year of growth of more than 100 percent for the company.
