BOE to set up IC fund

SHENZHEN-LISTED BOE Technology Group Co, which offers LCD panels for TV and smartphone vendors, said yesterday that it will establish an integrated circuit fund of 4 billion yuan (US$626 million).
The fund is founded to support the development of the IC industry, one of the national strategic sectors identified for tech innovation.
BOE invested 1.5 billion yuan in the fund, along with other investors including the government-backed National Integrated Circuit Fund.
