MORE than 250 kinds of mobile devices, including 40 tablet computers, will adopt Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips, almost double the current number, the world's biggest mobile phone chip designer revealed yesterday.
At present, 125 mobile devices feature the Qualcomm's chips. The popularity of 3G and demand for new functions will boost the chip sales for Qualcomm, said Dan Novak, the United States-based firm's vice president who visited Shanghai yesterday.
In 2015, the global 3G user base will hit 3.1 billion, more than double the 1.2 billion in 2010, according to Qualcomm.
