Customs put online

A NEW "Online Customs Declaration System" was launched by Shanghai Customs and the Pudong New Area government yesterday to improve the efficiency of customs clearance and provide enterprises with more convenient services.
The online platform is the first online customs declaration system in the China, said Ye Jing, a Shanghai Customs official.
From now on, the more than 14,000 enterprises within the jurisdiction of Pudong Customs can complete declarations by inputting data and uploading scans. Enterprises will need to go to the Pudong Citizen Center only once to submit required paperwork.
The entire procedure has been shortened from seven to four working days. Customs will mail a certificate directly to enterprises.
