Demand for IT staff sees fastest rise in Q3
DEMAND for information technology specialists in China rose the fastest and real estate professionals the slowest in the third quarter, recruitment service provider Zhaopin.com said in a report yesterday.
The 40 percent jump from a year earlier in demand for Internet and IT specialists led the recruitment market, Zhaopin.com said.
The telecommunications sector came in second while the retail and wholesale sector took the third place. Headcount in the real estate industry grew slowest at nearly 8 percent.
“Chinese authorities’ reform efforts have lifted the service industries with supporting financing and tax measures,” the report said.
Job openings by private firms rose 31 percent year on year while state-owned firms cut demand by 29 percent, worse than the second quarter’s 25 percent drop.
“The rapid development of mobile Internet and technology innovation highlighted the vitality of small businesses amid slower economic growth,” the report said.
The number of job openings posted on its website rose 23 percent from a year earlier, a dip from the second quarter’s 24 percent rise.
