Dianping.com has launched a new payment service allowing 200 million users to pay restaurant and cafe bills directly with discounts, the Shanghai-based firm said yesterday.
The new service, called Shanhui or Quick Discount, offers users real-time discounts based on various conditions such as location, time and whether it is weekend or not.
Dianping aims to cash in through data analysis and targeted advertising services through Shanhui, said Zhang Tao, chief executive and founder of Dianping.
So far the new services have been available in 150,000 shops in 160 cities nationwide.
