Fair aims to focus on sale of tech
THE second China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair is one that Xu Shilong, chairman of Geoharbour Group, is keen to attend as technology has brought wealth to him.
As the patent owner of a technique to consolidate soft soil, known as the high vacuum densification method, Xu runs a private Chinese firm that now has business in over 12 countries and an annual revenue of up to several hundred million yuan. The technique has acquired patents in nearly 40 countries.
The fair, seen as China’s biggest platform for trading technology, will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from Thursday to Saturday. It is set to attract over 150 overseas companies, or 23 percent of total exhibitors. They will display high-tech products and services in biotech, new materials, new energy, garbage disposal, water supply and robot making.
