Firms show tech to help daily life
COMPANIES attending the 2nd China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair will show technologies and services that can help improve people’s daily life, Shanghai Daily learned yesterday.
Anhui-based Ankon Technologies will show its NaviCam system which uses remote-controlled capsules with cameras to help doctors diagnose stomach problems. The system is used in four hospitals in Shanghai.
During the fair, visitors who win a lucky draw held by Ankon can enjoy a free diagnosis with the NaviCam.
The Shanghai Building Material Group plans to invest 1.8 billion yuan (US$289 million) to build a next-generation cement plant to process the city’s waste. On completion likely in 2017, the plant can process 3,000 tons of waste, about one-seventh of the city’s total waste of 20,000 tons daily.
The fair, China’s biggest platform for trading technologies, will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from Thursday to Saturday. It is set to draw over 150 overseas companies, or 23 percent of total exhibitors.
