Firms spin strategic deal
LECTRA, which provides software and cutting systems for the garment industry, will boost its presence in China following the signing of a strategic partnership with China’s Ruyi Group, a leading textile and apparel maker.
Under the deal signed on Sunday, Lectra will support the Shandong-based company in expanding operations at its plant in Taian in the province to supply a growing number of international luxury menswear clients.
The world’s apparel market could double to US$2.2 trillion by 2025, led by markets such as China and India, according to Andreas Kim, China chief of Lectra, who cited third-party estimates.
Ruyi President Qiu Dong said the tie-up with Lectra will help the Chinese firm better follow fashion industry trends.
