Hisense set to bank on overseas
HISENSE Co, the No. 3 global TV vendor, will set up new research centers in Israel and Japan in 2016 to increase its revenue from overseas under its long-term expansion strategy.
Hisense is eying to increase overseas revenue to between US$3.5 billion and US$4 billion this year from US$3.2 billion last year as it taps investment on research and unveil products with latest technologies including naked-eye 3D TV, smart transport and medical system, said Lin Lan, Hisense’s executive vice president.
With the new research centers and overseas promotions like sponsoring the Euro 2016 football championship, Hisense aims to increase overseas revenue from high-end smart TV, smart health care system, smart city system and optic telecommunications products.
Lin said Hisense hopes that overseas income will contribute half of the company’s total revenue, compared with one third last year, in the long term.
In 2015, Hisense’s share of the global TV market was 5.6 percent to lead among Chinese-brand vendors although its share was behind those of Samsung and LG.
