Hopes on software
SHANGHAI-BASED iSoft Infrastructure Software launched China's first self-developed automotive electronics infrastructure software platform yesterday. The software is expected to break overseas firms' dominance in the sector and meet the huge domestic demand.
The software is part of the nation's "He Gao Ji" project, referring to core electronics components, high-end general chips and infrastructure software.
The home-grown software will target the booming domestic automotive market, whose sales are expected at 15 million units this year from 13 million in 2009, said Zhao Xiaoliang, general manager of iSoft.
