Huawei protocol links various standards
HUAWEI Technologies’ open smart home protocol of connecting devices will support various types of connection standards, the company said yesterday, adding that it expects to sell over 100 million handsets this year.
The world’s biggest telecommunications equipment maker yesterday launched the protocol to connect devices that include handsets, routers and air conditioners using the connection protocol Hilink, an operating system LiteOS and a planned self-developed chip specifically for home appliance devices.
Separately, Huawei expects to sell over 100 million smartphones this year after it sold 27.4 million smartphones in the third quarter, up 63 percent from the same period in 2014.
