IT center plans new platform

THE Shanghai-based national IT outsourcing center yesterday said it had agreed to cooperate with 21 companies as well as provinces to establish a new platform to offer shared resources and a new credit system.
Lack of brand, credit and talent are among the top challenges in the Chinese outsourcing industry, and the new platform is expected to deal with the problems, said Shen Xiaoqiang, head of the China (Shanghai) Outsourcing Promotion Center.
In all, 21 outsourcing firms, including India-based Infosys and China’s Neusoft, agreed to established a committee for the new platform. Jilin and Henan provinces were also signatories to the deal.
With the unified platform featuring new technologies, including big data and Internet of Things, Chinese firms are expected to become more competitive globally.
In the first six months, China’s outsourcing revenue jumped 23 percent year on year, mainly from orders from the United States, Europe and Japan. Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou are the major contributor to the income.
