IT professionals favored in China’s job market, portal says

RECRUITMENT in China kept momentum in the third quarter with demand for information technology specialists rose the fastest and real estate the slowest, recruitment portal Zhaopin.com said in a report today.

The number of job openings posted on the website rose 23 percent year-on-year, edging down from 24 percent increase in the second quarter.

Demand for information technology and internet specialists rose 40 percent from last year, leading the recruitment market.

Telecommunication and retail/whole sale sectors took the second and third place, while real estate industry expanded headcount at the slowest pace of nearly 8 percent.

Job openings by private companies rose 31 percent from last year while state-owned companies cut demand by 29 percent, worsening from second quarter’s 25 percent decline.
