Innovation to power economic development
INNOVATION as a power for economic development is highlighted at the 4th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair.
This year’s fair, with its theme of “innovation for development, intellectual property protection and technology trade promotion,” emphasizes innovation as power for economic development and also aims to link markets for technology exchange globally.
“We hope to build a platform exposing key competitive advantages of Chinese and other nations’ technology companies,” Ding Hang, editor of the fair’s organizing committee, told Shanghai Daily.
“In this fair, you will find aircraft from Italy and Hungary because they provide world leading technologies on civil airplanes.”
He added that the fair also displays robots made by Chinese companies because “we see a rise in domestic demand for intelligent service robots.”
The three-day fair, which opened at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center yesterday, also provides trading consultation and project interaction. Nearly 70 Italian companies and research institutes took part in a technology match-marketing conference yesterday to discuss with Chinese entrepreneurs.
The National Intellectual Property Office will hold a conference tomorrow with experts on patent trading in the mobile and Internet industry and brand value.
Nearly 1,000 domestic and overseas firms specializing in computer science, automated manufacturing and biotechnology are attending the fair.
