CHIMEI Innolux, which provides a quarter of global LCD TV panels, is considering investing about US$500 million to build a plant on the Chinese mainland within several years, the Taiwan-based company said yesterday.
The new facility may be in north China where Chimei has no plants, said Chau Wang, general manager of Chimei's Southern Taiwan Science Park branch. Chimei has invested US$1 billion on the mainland, including a plant in Ningbo.
