Italy takes pride of place at fair

ITALY will display 12 “smart city” innovation projects including “Internet of housing” at the 2016 China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair.
Stefano Beltrame, consul general of Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, said that visitors to the fair will witness the “Internet of housing” that connects intellectual electric control for temperatures to a solar system. This link can also help set up instructions to operate the washing machine and television.
The technology of “smart city” also refers to a more convenient urban life such as easier transport.
“We hope to find partners in China for technology research via the exhibition,” Beltrame said. “We’ve already more than 50 professors working in Chinese universities such as Jiao Tong and Fudan.”
The three-day fair, at which Italy is the guest country of honor, will open on April 21 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.
