Lenovo beats Dell
LENOVO has overtaken Dell Inc to become the world's second-largest personal-computer maker, according to a latest industry research.
Lenovo has 13.7 percent of the global PC market after it shipped more than 12.6 million units in the July-September quarter, International Data Corp said in its latest report. Its share climbed from 12.3 percent in the second quarter.
Globally, PC shipments rose 3.6 percent from that of last year to 91.9 million units in the three months ended September 30.
Hewlett-Packard is the largest market player with 18.1 percent and Dell has 12 percent.
