Letv to create more complete ecosystem
LETV said yesterday that it will create a more complete ecosystem as it diversifies its business and expands globally this year.
Since launching a smartphone in Beijing last April, Letv has established a business ecosystem covering seven business lines, including original online video and smart TV, smartphone, film production and new-energy car.
“Establishing an ecosystem and expanding globally are two areas for Letv to focus on in 2016,” Jia Yueting, Letv’s chief executive, said at a conference to unveil a new company logo and the le.com website, which cost the firm over US$10 million.
Besides smart TV and handset, Letv has invested heavily in film production, Yidao taxi-hailing app and cloud computing business. The company, listed on the ChiNext growth-enterprise market in Shenzhen, displayed a concept car featuring artificial intelligence during the Consumer Electronics Show, the world’s biggest gadget show, in the US last week.
In 2016, Letv aims to sell 15 million smartphones globally, up from sales of 4 million units in 2015.
