Market just as vital as innovation

Corporations should place equal emphasis on the market place even as they invest in technology innovation, experts said at the Pujiang Innovation Forum yesterday.
The companies should use the market to test their innovations, said Ding Lei, director of the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park.
In the initial stage of innovation the companies should interact with the market as this may create inventions that night have better applications for consumers, said participants at the forum which ended yesterday.
“Dialogue with potential customers helps you to optimize your ideas and enable you to further develop ideas and technologies in a market-oriented way,” said Canice Wu, president of US-based Plug and Play Tech Center, which specializes in growing tech startups.
