Ministry says it will push for smarter future
CHINA is to push integration between information and industrial technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said yesterday.
China will strengthen development in smart manufacturing, 3D printing and robotics to upgrade the manufacturing industry and the whole economy.
It will also push development of the Internet of Things and automotive communications.
The Internet of Things, which allows various devices to establish wireless connections, contributed revenue of 600 billion yuan (US$96 billion) in China in 2014, a 30 percent growth year on year. More than 9 million people now use car communications services, which make their cars “smart and safe,” said Mao Weiming, vice minister of the ministry.
Meanwhile, the ministry stressed the importance of following China’s Internet laws and policies in comments on recent interrupted service of virtual private network servers.
Wen Ku, the ministry’s communications director, said: “China’s Internet development should obey our laws. New regulation methods appear with the Internet development.”
