Nokia set to unveil new Lumia range

STRUGGLING Nokia Corp will launch new Windows Mobile phones in China next month as it aims to make the world's biggest mobile phone market "balanced," Stephen Elop, Nokia's president and executive chief, said yesterday in Shanghai.
The Finnish company will also increase investment in the country by expanding its Beijing research center and shifting production capacity to China and India from factories in Europe and Mexico, according to Elop.
Nokia will unveil a new line of Lumia phones which works on the Windows Phone system in China to compete with Android models and Apple's iPhone. Nokia has already lunched the Lumia 710 and 800 models in overseas markets.
"They will be 'Wow, that's cool' products," said Elop. "The new-brand products are strong competitors to make the market balanced."
Nokia, whose market share has fallen to 15 percent in the domestic market by the end of the fourth quarter, has recently moved production capacity to China and India after it trimmed its workforce in its Hungary, Mexico and Finland factories, Elop said.
