Online degree to be set up

Shanda Literature and the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art said yesterday that they will set up a new online literature degree yesterday, the first of its kind on the Chinese mainland.
The two partners agreed to the tie-up due to booming user demand in China and the popularity of mobile devices for reading, analysts said.
Shanda Literature, which raised US$110 million in July, will support the new degree being established.
There was no timetable for Shanda’s initial public offering, its Chairman Qiu Wenyou said yesterday.
