Online game revenue set to jump 170%
CHINA'S online game revenue is expected to reach 70 billion yuan (US$10.2 billion) within three years, an industry report said today.
Industry revenues are expected to hit 26 billion yuan this year, which represents a 43 percent increase from 2008, Beijing-based Analysys International said in its latest report.
Total revenue is expected to reach 73.1 billion yuan in 2012, the report said.
Earlier this week, an official from the China Games Industry Association made a similar forecast. Secretary General of the Association Qian Haiguang said on Tuesday at an annual online game meeting that total revenue will reach 25 billion yuan in 2009 with huge market potential in the world's largest Internet user base.
