Partners key to growth, Aliyun says
CLOUD computing firm Aliyun, a unit of Alibaba, yesterday said it is planning a tenfold increase in the number of companies with which it collaborates over the next three years.
The company provides data management and cloud computing services, and currently works with about 200 partners in related fields. It hopes to raise that figure to 2,000 by 2018, its President Hu Xiaoming said at the Alibaba Data Technology Day conference.
“By joining forces with more partners, we hope to make data technology more accessible to business owners,” Hu said.
The firm is seeking new partners in China and overseas, and is hoping to build “a cloud computing ecosystem,” he said.
“More and more large enterprises are embracing the Internet ... and this gives us huge growth potential,” he said.
Aliyun has five data centers in China — in Beijing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Hong Kong and Shenzhen — and one in Silicon Valley in the United States.
