SAP’s cloud plans not pie in the sky
SAP AG will continue investing in cloud computing in China after its cloud business in the country grew by triple digits, Europe’s biggest software vendor said yesterday in Shanghai.
“We want to enhance a cloud platform and further build the cloud economy in China,” said Clas Neumann, SAP’s senior vice president.
SAP launched public cloud computing services in China by cooperating with China Telecom, and by the end of last year more than 10,000 enterprise clients had used their cloud services. SAP expects China to become its top regional market by revenue by 2020.
SAP will expand China’s research and development center in Shanghai, the company said at its first developer-oriented SAP d-code conference held yesterday in Shanghai. It has established a cloud business platform in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, to penetrate the booming Chinese cloud market.
